It was over four decades ago that music’s “King of Romance” emerged as one of the foremost entertainers in the world. Once called “the premiere voice of the 20th century” by the London Times, the multiple Grammy nominee with the ultra-smooth three and one half octave range and natural charisma has sold over 150 million records worldwide including sixty-four Gold and twenty-four Platinum albums. Engelbert Humperdinck first hit the charts with his smash hit, “Release Me (And Let Me Love Again)” in 1967. The song went to #1 in eleven countries and was so big in the United Kingdom that it managed to prevent The Beatles’ two-sided hit, “Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever” from reaching the top of the charts. The next decade brought hits such as “After the Lovin’,” “Winter World Of Love,” “Am I That Easy To Forget,” “The Last Waltz,” “There Goes My Everything,” “Les Bicyclettes De Belsize,” “This Moment In Time,” “Till You And Your Lover Are Lovers Again” and “A Man Without Love.” He has recorded almost eighty albums including many multi-language versions. His music has transcended time remaining the consummate global entertainer with unequalled style and sophistication. His popularity crosses every generation and gender ... his fan club is one of the largest in the world with over 250 chapters. When not on tour Engelbert and his wife of 44 years, Patricia divide their time between their homes in England and California.
