Chicago has done it all … five consecutive #1 albums, thirteen platinum albums, twenty-one Top 10 singles, a Grammy and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Formed in their namesake city in 1967, Chicago’s music mixed rock, pop and jazz in a completely new way. Propelled by innovative horn arrangements, the band’s commercial potential was soon apparent when in 1970, the band hit the charts with its first single, “Make Me Smile.” Hits to follow included the Grammy-winning “If You Leave Me Now,” “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?,” “Beginnings,” “Colour My World,” “Saturday in the Park,” “Just You ‘N’ Me,” “Old Days,” “Baby, What A Big Surprise” and the group’s signature “25 or 6 to 4.” In a career both influential and extensive, Chicago is the first American band to chart a Top 40 album in five consecutive decades. Today’s line-up includes original band members Robert Lamm on vocals and keyboards, Lee Loughnane on trumpet, James Pankow on trombone and Walt Parazaider on woodwinds. On the philanthropical side, Chicago actively supports two charities through their concert ticket sales … the band donates a portion of each ticket sold to the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation and to Hannah & Friends, an organization started by Maura Weis and her husband, current Notre Dame football coach, Charlie Weis which works to improve the quality of life for children and adults with special needs. Chicago is currently getting ready to embark on their 2010 tour which will include performances at both Boulevard Casino’s Red Robinson Show Theatre and the River Rock Casino Resort in August.
