For over thirty years, Anne Murray’s unique voice and heartwarming style have made her a household name. Over the years, Anne's recordings have seldom been off the charts. She has sold close to fifty million albums and has won countless awards. Her singing career began in the summer of 1966 when she joined "Singalong Jubilee," a popular CBC television show followed by the recording of a Singalong Jubilee cast album which was eventually released by tiny Arc Records, one of Canada’s first labels. She then recorded her first solo album, What About Me which was released in 1968 on the Arc label. Anne then signed with Capitol Records and in the fall of 1969 her second album, This Way Is My Way was released and gave the world Anne's first hit single, "Snowbird" which went on to become one of North America's most played songs of 1970. And for the first time in history, an American gold record was awarded to a solo Canadian female … Anne Murray. Suddenly, Anne was in demand for television and stage appearances all over North America. She recorded hit after hit on both the pop and country charts … such hits included “A Love Song,“ “You Needed Me” and “I Just Fall In Love Again.” She became a regular on CBS’s "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour” and continued to make television and concert appearances and records throughout the 70's and 80's. She was a guest star on many popular TV shows including “The Dean Martin Summer Show,” “The Midnight Special” and “Saturday Night Live.” During this time, Anne was also busy starring in her own numerous television specials … set everywhere from Nova Scotia to Jamaica … from the Quebec Winter Carnival to the Caribbean. Anne's career to date has been honoured by a spectacular number of awards … more than almost any female singer in history. She is the proud recipient of four Grammys, three American Music Awards, three Country Music Association Awards, three Canadian Country Music Association Awards and twenty-four Juno Awards. Her most recent album, Anne Murray Duets: Friends & Legends which was released in January has reached #2 on the Canadian pop album charts, has recently been certified double platinum in Canada and has earned her two Juno nominations: Best Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year. Anne began her final major tour on February 9th beginning in the United States and ending in Canada … the tour will include a one-night engagement at the Boulevard Casino’s Red Robinson Show Theatre in May.
