Event Starts at 08:00 PM Friday, May 4, 2012 Red Robinson Show Theatre
Born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, Lewis Black performs a brilliant trifecta as stand-up comedian, actor and author. His one man concerts play to sell out audiences throughout North America as well as across Europe and New Zealand for which he receives critical acclaim, adulation, occasional hate mail and marriage proposals. Lewis’ live performances provide a carthartic release of anger and disillusionment for his audience. In 2001, he received the Award for “Best Male Stand Up” by the American Comedy Awards and was recognized by the Pollstar Awards for his blockbuster comedy tours, “Rules of Enragement” and “Red, White & Screwed” in 2004. His CDs and DVDs for both tours earned him two Grammy nominations and one win. As the creator of “Back in Black” for Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Lewis has been with the show since the beginning. In 2006, he had a break out year as an actor … he co-starred with Robin Williams in Barry Levinson’s Man of the Year, appeared as “the fake dean of a fake college” in Steve Pink’s Accepted and the harried airport manager in Paul Feig’s Unaccompanied Minors. He also lent his voice to the role of “Jimmy” in Bob Saget’s parody Farce of the Penguins. Lewis has also written three best-selling books … Nothing’s Sacred (2005), Me of Little Faith (2008) and I’m Dreaming of a Black Christmas (2010) … all of which garnered critical praise and spent several weeks on the New York Times Best Sellers List. Lewis Black will be performing his hilarious stand-up for one night only at Boulevard Casino’s Red Robinson Show Theatre on May 4, 2012. Tickets on sale Thursday December 22 @ 10AM
