Country music legend Merle Haggard has been writing, recording and performing for over forty-five years. Throughout the span of his career, the multiple Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter has recorded over 600 songs and has charted a total of thirty-eight #1 country hits including “Sing Me Back Home,” “Mama Tried,” “Workin’ Man Blues,” “Okie From Muskogee” and “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here And Drink.” While considered the most truly “country” of country artists, there has always been a strong influence of blues and especially jazz in Haggard’s music. His most recent album, The Bluegrass Sessions was also his first foray into bluegrass music. Released on Del McCoury’s record label in 2007, the album shot to #1 on Billboard’s Top Bluegrass Albums chart. Haggard has been inducted into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Today he still enjoys going out on the road and entertaining sold-out audiences across North America and will be performing for one night only at Boulevard Casino’s Red Robinson Show Theatre in March.
