Mickey Thomas is the owner of the soaring voice that propelled Starship through the ‘80s and ‘90s. With his soulful voice and compelling vocals, Thomas has established himself as one of rock music’s most recognizable stars. He first made his mark in 1976 as lead vocalist on the mega-hit, “Fooled Around And Fell In Love” with The Elvin Bishop Band. He then joined Jefferson Starship in 1979 and immediately they scored a #1 hit with “Jane.” With their new sound and powerful new vocals, the group was renamed Starship in 1985 and continued to record an amazing string of hits including “No Way Out,” “We Built This City,” “Sara” and received an Oscar nomination for their #1 hit, “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” from the film, Mannequin. Their other hits include “Find Your Way Back,” “Stranger,” “Laying It On The Line” and “It’s Not Over Till It’s Over” which became Major League Baseball’s theme in 1987. The original incarnation broke up in 1991 but Thomas revived Starship the following year and they’ve been touring steadily ever since. Their current show not only features an expanded set list that includes the multiplatinum hits of Jefferson Starship and Starship but also special guest, Bobby Kimball … best remembered for his days as the original lead vocalist for Toto. Starship will be performing at Boulevard Casino’s Red Robinson Show Theatre in January, 2010. Tickets: Golden Circle $54.50 | Orchestra $44.50 | plus service charges |
