The decision to gamble is a personal decision and Great Canadian Casinos Inc. cannot assume responsibility for an individual's actions. In order to provide assistance, staff training stresses the importance of responsible gaming, prevention policies and procedures.
Great Canadian Casinos Inc. will:
- Comply with all laws and regulations and provide a secure gaming environment
- Provide information to customers on responsible gaming
- Respect our customers and provide assistance to the customer who may be experiencing problems
- Promote British Columbia's Problem Gambling Helpline
- Promote responsible gambling policies, practices and procedures within the gaming industry
Our commitment to responsible gaming governs the conduct of our business to promote responsible gaming.
- Employee training stresses the importance of responsible gaming and how to offer help to customers who may need it.
- Appropriate Response Training (ART), is a program developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) with the goal of developing and enhancing the knowledge, awareness, attitudes and skills of gaming industry personnel in order to respond appropriately to guests who may be in distress within gaming facilities. Great Canadian Casinos is an active participant in this training program.
- We emphasize to our employees that casino gaming is an activity that is appropriate for adults only, and require them to be vigilant in their efforts to prevent minors from playing at our casinos.
- We conduct our business with honesty and integrity, consistent with the highest moral, legal, and ethical standards, complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
- We adhere to the Advertising and Marketing Standards for the B.C. Gambling Industry to ensure that gambling is represented in a responsible manner in all advertising and marketing.
- Responsible / problem materials, and information about how a problem gambler may obtain help, are readily visible in our gaming facilities, including toll-free helpline numbers.
